Surprise

Last year I got a scale for Valentines Day, this year a very chic bouquet of flowers thanks Honey!

Funny story: I haven't even told Wes this story yet, but since he edits all my post (thank you for that by the way honey) I guess he will know about this now. Just remember honey I love you. Sorry for snooping.
So about a week before Valentines day I got the mail. As I was thumbing through it I noticed a envelope address to Wes in ladies handwriting. All it had on the return address was a Ladies name Andie Saxton. Naturally I was curious so I riped that baby open. Only to find a invoice for an order of Valentine flowers. Oops!!!
The little sweetie has never given me flowers for Valentines day. In fact I can count on one had the amount of times he has every given me flowers period. Wes is a practical gift giver, Which I love, but it is always very nice when he blows his money on flowers.
Well, needless to say I felt very guilty for blowing the surprise. So I came up with the idea that I would hide the letter until after Valentines and then I would pull it out and tell him that in came in the mail after the flowers came. As I got looking it read please pay amount due. Worried that he needed to see that and pay it. I knew I need to get in his hands, but how?
Now most people would just give it up and tell there spouse what had happened. However I saw an opportunity and took it. Lucky for me we had a very busy mail day. Wes came home from work and was so excited his package of Sham Wows came he grab it along with a stack of letters and began to open them. Wes has inherited this technique form his mom, but he grabs the hole stack of mail and opens them all at the same time. Then he looks at them one by one. I knew this was my opportunity. Lucky I was making Kendyl a very fluffy tutu, so I went to the hiding place of the letter snuck it into the tutu and went and turned on my excitement about the lame sham wows he had been waiting for. Conveniently, I set the very fluffy tutu on top of the stack of mail. Asking Wes to show me this great sham thingy's. Completely and quite easily distracting him. While he was busing busting open his package I was able to sneak the letter onto the bottom of the stack. After giving a Wes a few ooos and aawws over his Shammy's. I grab my tutu and went back to making it. Completely minding my own business so he had ample time to see his invoice for the flowers and hide it from me. He he! I pulled it off. It is not very easy to pull anything over on Wes but I did it. So naturally I acted all surprised when I got the flowers and he was non the wiser. That is until I now. I never intended on telling him but it just makes such a funny story I just had to. Plus, I want to remember it.
So sorry honey I ruined your surprise and flowers were a very big surprise. but I loved them just the same and they were beautiful. Thank you. I love you so much.
Every year we make a Valentines dinner for our kids. This year although not so Fancy but very festive I made a heart shaped pizza.

Andre also taught us about manors that he learned at his Valentines tea he had at school. Too bad they only last the one dinner.
Thanks, to my loves for a great valentines day!

That is a very funny story. I would have ripped open any girly looking letter to my husband as well.

Crazy jealous girl :). Seriously the whole Sherlock Holmes thing is kinda dramatic but really funny too. Glad you got such beautiful flowers. You deserve them!

Lol that's funny :)

I totally blew the surprise with my Christmas gift this year - a package came in the mail from Amazon addressed to Dan and I totally opened it. I wrapped it back up and acted all surprised at Christmas :) Whoops. He still doesn't know.

Love your table setting - looks straight out of the Potterybarn catalog.

I don't know what's funnier. . .the fact that Wes actually ordered Sham Wows, or the way you so cleverly covered your tracks. Awesome!!
