Boo!
Who is this scary Vampire?
That's right, it is our Andre! I'd like to call him my little "Edward!"

Andre decided to be a vampire this year in July. It is kind of funny that Andre would pick that because when Wes was boy he was a vampire for Halloween three years in a row.
Kendyl was a Spider, a hand-me -down costume from her brother!
We spiced it up a bit with a red bow and called her the Itsy Bisty Spider. This is her trying to climb up the water spout.

It seemed like all this spider wanted to do was crawl away.Kendyl's favorite treat was Dum Dums. She even loved eating the stick. Before we noticed, all that was left was a little chewed up paper. I know, parents of the year!Happy Halloween!

The Big "D"
Well Disneyland I mean!
Last Christmas Wes came up with a new tradition in our family. We both realized how important family vacations are to us. So we decided that every year we will plan a vacation and then announce it at Christmas, that way we forced to do it. We found a huge stocking that we are calling the family stocking and that is were we put the present that will announce our next adventure! Each vacation we will collect a pin to put on the stocking so that our stocking will eventually be filled with memories of the years. This last Christmas we chose Disneyland!
It took almost the whole year to get there, but we did. We left September 23 and were gone 9 days. Yes, we are crazy and drove. But, to our surprise the kids did great! Our first stop was a pit stop to visit some friends in New Harmony, UT. Our kids love Sony and Ron. They are also so good to our kids. Thanks to Sonya we now have a new wardrobe for Kendyl, thanks again.

Our next stop...the land were dreams come true!

(Don't Judge me on some of the pictures. Most were taking by Wes' little take along friendly camera! Great for times like this but not the best pictures ever. Wes tells me that it doesn't make the memories any less great which is true. Thanks for the great perspective.)

It was all decked out in Halloween decor.

We were told that the end of September is the best time to go. They are right, we walked right on the rides. All except the new Nemo ride. We had to wait about 45 min, but I guess it was like a three hour wait in the summer!
It was a great ride. The kids loved it! Kendyl would not stop squealing. I was surprised that Kendyl was able to go on a lot of the rides, even Pirates of the Caribbean. Her favorite rides were Nemo, It's a small world and the Carousal.Andre loved Nemo, Star wars, and his very favorite was Buzz Lightyear.
Andre was tall enough to go on everything but two rides at California Adventure. Indiana Jones and Tower of Terror scared the whits out of him.
Of course we had to get the kids there own mouse ears. What would a trip to Disneyland be without them.
We also went to a Character Dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. If you are planning a trip to Disneyland I highly suggest to do a Character dinner, it is a little pricey but worth it. We got to meet a lot of the Characters. The food was great and there was a lot of activity for the kids. They dance with Goofy and got to bang on pots and pans with Pluto.
At first Kendyl was like "Who the crap are these guys," but by the end she was really intrigued.
We also ate at anther cool restaurant It was called "Buca Di Beppo" it means Joe's basement. It was really decorated like a basement. There was also some interesting photo's on the wall. I'm not sure it is really "Kid approved."

This picture brings a whole new meaning to line "I carried a Watermelon." Andre's favorite food is pasta. He is always asking me to make pasta and broccoli. By the look of these pictures I would say it is Kendyl's too.
We also went to California Adventure. It was fun. We loved the soaring over California ride.
Kendyl wasn't feeling very good the third day there. Andre and Wes were on a ride and I could not get her to stop crying till we spotted Aerial and she immediately stopped and stared!
Daddy's Little girl!
Kendyl thinks dad is pretty funny! For a long time she would only give kisses to her daddy.

Daddy and his Princess!
We also drove down the coast to San Diego to visit some great friends and went to a football game, but I will post that later. this entry has already gotten insanely long. Sorry for that, but I use my blog as a journal. I even copy and paste it to a word file so I can keep it forever.

Bye Bye Summer!
Well, now that summer is officially over, we hope life will slow down a little. All in all we had a great summer! We had a lot of fun. There were some really fun things that I didn't get to blog because it all came so fast. So, I decided to do a summer summary of things we did that I didn't get posted!

In July, I met my friend Karinne, and two of her kids, down in Salt Lake and we went to the Discovery Museum. It was awesome. A lot of stuff for the kids to do and play with. I haven't seen Karinne in forever, but it was like we had just seen each other last week. Her girls are beautiful and all though Hunter could not be there it was great for Andre to play with her girls. I am still very proud that I named Brinley.

The museum is filled with life like toys. They have a construction area, a real helicopter to play in, a news set that allowed the kids to see themselves on TV, and much more. It was great day. Hopefully, it won't be another year before we get together again.

OH YES! The Archibald's servived another camping Trip!!!

In August we did the annual Trip with Wes' family. Although it was camping It was great! I think we just might be getting this outdoors stuff down. We went to Cinnamon Creek. It was beautiful. We hiked about 2 miles up to an old mining cave. It was a nice little hike. The kids all did so good. Andre did however fall in the river and got his feet wet. It caused some blisters but he never complained once (Miracle).

Wes' whole family, minus me. Someone had to take the picture. Sometimes it is good to be the photographer!
A Day at the Lake

One of the things we miss most about living in Michigan was access to the lakes. We are however, very lucky to live about 45 min away from Bear Lake. On Saturday, I was going a little stir crazy for some summer fun. So we packed up the car and drove to the lake. It was a fun afternoon of sand castle building, swimming, and kite flying.

What would the perfect summer day be without golfing...
I will admit I use to hate the sport, mostly because Wes would always go with the boys and leave me home with the kids. Now I know that a little male bonding is important and that is why it to me so long, but finally, 3 summers ago, I decided to pick up the sport. I didn't want to take away Wes' bonding time but when I told him I was interested he was thrilled. He went out and bought me some clubs, pink ones of course, and that was it. At first I think he was a little frustrated with me, but now he says he would rather golf with me than anyone. Andre has been a fan of the sport since he could walk when he was Two and a half when we bought him his first set of clubs and he has been golfing ever since. This however, was Kendyl's first time on the course. I am not sure she shared our enthusiasm but give her time.
A little Backyard fun!

I think we need a bigger pool!

Last but not least the perfect end to a great summer....The annual Box Elder County fair. Here is where our hick roots rear up! Every summer since me and Wes were... well since birth, have ended our summers at the Fair and Rodeo. Now it is our kid's turn.

What a Beautiful Bride!

This is my beautiful, life long friend, Katie. We have been friends since we were like two. We were inseparable in high school. Although life has changed, we have moved far away form each other and haven't been as close as we were in High School. I still love her to death. I am so happy for her and Jordain. I must say she was a beautiful bride. I loved her dress. It was a pretty cream color and look great on her! Congratulations Mrs. Mathis.

So, I know that I am the last of us to get my pics up of our great weekend, but I have be playing catch up all week (story of my life). What a great weekend. Thanks Rich's for the fun place.

So, it was our first official Michigan family reunion, minus a few important couples, and plus one great couple that we were glad to welcome to the family. Wade and Anne were a blast and Andre loved finally having a friend to play with.

Gotta love smores! Even though the classic smore is still the best, I found a new spin on them. Instead of using just chocolate, use a Reese's Peanut butter Cup! It was pretty tasty. Thanks Heather for the Idea.

I am in love with Bettie. Here is our engagement photo!

What would this reunion be without a little golf!

Kendyl's newest hair do, "Little Piggies." I just couldn't resist.

Kendyl is such a girl, but also has a tomboy side to her! She loves her dollies but if she is ever missing I usually find her in Andres room playing with his toys. Andre has even given her one of his Batman's.

This weekend was filled with a lot of eating, tons of laughing, some wreaking on the wake board and a lot of just hanging around!

By the way, I want you all to know it was my first time on a wake board and I was able to get up on the board. I didn't stay up very long, but none the less, I am pretty proud of myself; especially since I haven't been on a boat for about 9 years. Guess how many times Wes successfully got up! (NONE) That's right!

Kendyl's new Dress!

One of my favorite things is "Vintage stuff." It is fun to make something that is old, new again! I also love things that have a story behind them. My dear Grandmother, Afton Rhodes, made me a pillowcase when I was young. My grandmother died when I was 11. When I was 12, my grandfather found a set of pillowcases that she had made. She had written my name on them to give to me someday. I have held on to them all these years and now found a way to make it into something I can treasure!

(The Afton dress)

Six years ago, when I was pregnant with Andre, I saw in a Martha Stewart magazine a pattern to make a dress from an old Vintage pillowcase. I loved the idea, but of course had a boy! I just recently went through some things that my grandmother had made me. I found the pillowcases and remember that idea. So I hunted down the pattern (I end up having to call Martha Stewart herself, just kidding. But I did have to call their headquarters and request the past issue. They said they only had like five left, so I was lucky.)

I am kinda proud that I made it all by myself and did not screw up once.

It has beautiful and almost perfect stitching, that my grandmother did.

Kendyl is almost 11 months old. She is getting so big. She is pulling herself up on everything, but not really that close or interested in walking. I don't think she really gets it yet. If you hold her hands to help her, she lifts both feet up and down. She looks so big in this picture.

Meet Penny Patch, Kendyl's puppy. Wes named her. Kendyl loves animals she giggles every time she sees them. She really loves dogs, especially Penny. It is sad that this is they only kind of puppy she is going to have, Kendyl parents hate real dogs. Sorry kids.

Today was the Day
Andre has been so excited and repeatedly asking me when he starts Kindergarten. Today was the day! It is official. Our little man is in school.
He is such a poser. I guess he has learned throughout the years. He had to make sure we got a good picture of his backpack he thinks it is so cool. when we went shopping for it, he insisted he get one with just the one strap. Don't you love his shirt. It is funny.
He is attending Providence Elementary. His teacher is Mrs. Henderson. There are a lot of kids form our ward in his class. When I picked him up I asked what he did. He said, "learned stuff." I asked him what, he said, "I don't remember." I hope he has better luck in the future "learning stuff".

Kendyl's first ponytail!!!

Now, I know that it's an ity bity pony but it is still a pony and we are ecstatic. Andre was still pretty bald at this age. I tried to do pig tails, but Andre said that they looked like horns. They kinda did, so for now we will stick to a ponytail.

Her hair in the back is getting longer and she is getting curls. It is cute.

Mom, enough pictures already...

Happy Anniversary Honey I Love you!!!

Today is our 7th wedding Anniversary. I can't believe it has been that long. There have been many changes in our lives: different places we have called home, two kids that we share, the trails we have endured together. There is one thing thing that hasn't changed, I still love you. Thank you for always loving me. Thank you for making me a wife and a mother. Two of the greatest jobs I could ever want.
Happy Anniversary to our Friends Lance and Bettie, Chet and Annie, and Wendel and Heather. It was a great time to get married.

Dancing with the Utah Stars!!!
It is no secret that I love the show Dancing With the Stars that is on ABC. Well, Last Monday we had the chance to go to a benefit show called Dancing With the Utah Stars, put on by the girls form Good Things Utah. It was awesome. We had front row seats.

(Wes' Aunt Corlyss and my Mother-in-Law came with us. Yes, I made Wes go. I think he secretly loved it.)
The best part about the night was Louis VanAmstel was there and Julianne Hough from the real dancing with the stars. Julianne was the champ of last season with Apolo Anton Ohno the Olympic speed skater (who by the way was suppose to be there but could not make it, big bummer) Louis has been nominated for an Emmy for being a choreographer and a regular on the show. Julianne is from Utah and Louis moved to Orem, UT three years ago. The benefit was for the American Heart Association and also for a cause that Louis has started about fighting Obesity through dance.
Louis VanAmstel
Julianne Hough
Julianne is also a fabulous singer and is recording an album right now. She sang two songs form her new album. She told us this was the first time she sang them to an audience. They are really good. It just is not fair, the girl can dance, sing, and is beautiful. I wish she wasn't really nice or I would hate her.The night was filled with dinner and dancing. The girls from Good Things Utah trained like they do on Dancing With the Stars. They all performed and then we decided the winner. Nisha and Regan tied. We also got to be taught a dance from Louis himself. Julian and Louis also danced the cha cha and pulled people out of the audience to dance with. I however was not pick so I settled on doing the cha cha with my great husband. Just kidding, he is my partner of choice anytime.Louis and Julian closed the night with a special number form their national tour. I think it also won some awards. It was a beautiful dance. It was so exciting to see them in person.
But the best was still yet to come...
We got to go back stage and meet them! Wes' first cousin's wife is first cousins with Julianne. Did you follow that, to simplify we all that we got to meet Louis and Julianne.

Julianne is as nice as can be and so pretty...

and Louis is hot hot hot! He is defiantly a regular on the hot tamale train!

This is me squealing like a little girl. I sure that Louis is use to it. Well, I hope I didn't scare him. Check out Julianne in the back! I love it. They both have great personalities and are truly genuine.
For all you fans of the show, I asked both of them if they will be during the show in the fall and they didn't know yet and should find out next week. Louis said he would be real sad if he didn't. I also asked if they new what stars will be doing the show. They said they don't get to know until the first day of rehearsals.
What a great night! Thank you Wes for taking me. I am still squealing!

The kids are becoming more mobile(click on the link to see the video's)
This is andre riding a skateboard for the first time. Andre has wanted a skateboard for a long time. Our neighbor Ryan was kind enough to let him try his. That night in bed he decided he didn't want ride one anymore because he got hurt. Mandy told him that he could just wear his elbow and knee pads. His eyes lit up and he said, "Why don't I just wear pads all over my body!"http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2403617619818451743&hl=en(Cool socks buddy...now that he can tie his own shoes we don't get a say in what he wears)
This is Kendyl crawling. It took her long enough. The first time she crawled was in my hotel room on the bed. Mandy, Andre and Kendyl came to visit me for a few days while I was out of town.http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7535198650696111961&hl=en

The Great Outdoors!!!
It is official, the Archibald's are trying to become campers!

It is no secret that Wes and I are not to keen on camping, but we are, however, trying to become one with nature. We made the first step and bought our first tent and sleeping bags. Originally, we bought it all for our 72 hour emergency stuff. After all, why else would anybody pitch a tent and sleep on hard ground. Well, being the great parents we are, we decided, with much pleading from Andre, to go camping.

Our first camping adventure ...the annual Rhodes camp out. Just so you know, we planned to go for two nights, but two nights turned into one. I know we are wimps, but just after everyone had gone to bed Kendyl decided to wake everyone up screaming. She never does this so I guess she has the same feeling about camping as us. I swear at one point she looked up at me and said, "Why...Why are we doing this." So for the good of all our family and for no other reason, yah right, decided to spare everyone and head home to our soft beds early.

(Andre and I on his first trip tubing)

So, I do not like camping! I guess I have been spoiled with my parent's cabin. I do, however, love the fun stuff that camping brings. I love the beauty of nature, I love to four-wheel, I love to hike, I love to canoe, and I love the Rhodes tradition of Tubing down the river. Ever since I was a little girl we have came to the same spot and tubed down this same river. I have great memories of us on our tractor tire tubes floating down the freezing river, swirling through the part of the river we named the washing machine, and trying not to get dunked by my brother and all my cousins. Although the tubes have gotten fancier and the river has gotten lower, it is always a blast.

Because of the heat wave that Utah is having it was even hot up in the mountains. The only way to cool off was with a water fight. What a good brother Andre is. He made sure Kendyl didn't miss out on the fun.

She loved it and was giggling!

I love her chubby arms. I love to squeeze them.
My dad loves his little girl!
I love this picture because of my dad's hands. They are working man's hands and it looks so beautiful with the softness of Kendyl's little skin.

It is so fun to see our family grow! The cousins I grew up playing with now have kids that get to play with my kids. There are 18 grand kids. The oldest is around 42 and I am the very youngest at 27.

This is one of my favorite cousin's Jill 's little girl, Kara. Kara and Kendyl are Five months apart. They loved playing together.

I am sure that no one knows what this contraption is, but if you do you are cool. This is called a Zim Zam. It is a staple at the Rhodes family camp out. For a long time I thought it was a game that my Grandpa Rhodes made. To my surprise it is an actual 80's game. It works a lot like tether ball only it is a tennis ball and you have rackets. Every year you would find it set up. The funny is that it seemed to always be put in the exact same spot year after year. I remember many times the cousins in an never ending battle until the ball few off the string. Of course the Rhodes Mr. Fix-It duct taped it. It never really worked that great after that. So sadly one day it was retired. Until one day I was determined to find one and give it to my dad as a gift. I found one on eBay. Now a new generation cane enjoy the great Zim Zam.

All the these toys and Kendyl loves to play with grass! She has a special fondness for it. Andre hated it when he was little, but Kendyl does everything to get it.

It was a great trip! We are starting this camping thing out slowly. Our next trip is going to be with Wes' family for two nights! Will we make it....

My two Jail Birds

(Kendyl at 9 months and Andre around 7 months )
So I was looking at these cute pictures I had taken of Kendyl and remembered that I had a similar one of Andre. They are both so cute. They have different features but still look a little alike. Andre was a little more mobile earlier he crawled at 7 months and walked at 10. Kendyl is getting closer and closer to crawling but not quite there yet.
But with Andre's help she is getting closer.

Family Night Fun !
One of the things we missed most when we were living in Michigan was the mountains. The one thing we miss most now that we are living in Utah is are our second family in Michigan. Although most have moved closer we just don't get to see them as much as we would like. We are however excited that we have made some new friends in our Ward!
A couple weeks ago we went up Logan Canyon and roasted hotdogs and had smores.
(All the kids, minus the two new babies and Kendyl)
Can you believe that I was able to get all the kids to sit still for this split second. They are all looking and most are smiling!
The Ladies
(Maureen, Heather, Lindsey, Me)
The Fiefia's and there twin girls came along. The Pace family and the Coles, Who both have three kids all the same age. Their babies are even born on the same day. Our clan made up the the rest of the party.
Andre and two of his best friends Sydney and Gavin. Gavin and Andre will be in the same Kindergarten class.

The kids exploring on the boardwalk. Logan Canyon is so beautiful. Sometimes you take for granted how beautiful your own backyard is. We are lucky we have access to four canyons with in a 10 minute drive from our house. It has been fun to take advantage of that.
This is Wendell and this is what happens when a photographer gets a hold of your camera. I have known Wendell for years. We use to do weddings together. He did wedding videos and has crossed over to photography now. He is awesome. You can check out his work http://www.pacephoto.com/

This is Wendell's beautiful wife Heather and there new adorable baby, Cole.

Danny, Wendell, and Wes shooting the bull.

This just might be Andre's future bride, just kidding there only five but it is fun to tease Andre.
Thanks for being such great friends!

I love you!

Too Precious!!!

I am so glad that I caught this tender moment between the two of them! Moments like this make me so thankful that Heavenly father has blessed me with these two loving kids.

So Andre still has his green blanket that he has totted around for years! This blanket has Been more places then I could name. Let's just say every where we have been! Andre use to take it with us when I would take him to school. So that when I pick him up,It would be the first thing he would hug. Wes gets a little annoyed with it but I think it is endearing. Probably because I had a blanket my whole life. Until I got married and then was pressured to throw it away by me dear husband. I since then have adopted a quit that I love to lay with at night as we wind down. So I guess it is inherited.

In fact, Kendyl has attached herself to one now as well. However she has a fondness for Andre's she is always trying to still it away from him. Sometimes Andre will share it and sometimes he won't.

And sometimes he will give her a ride on it!

She loves the rides, the blanket and mostly she loves her BIG brother "BA BA"
That by the way, she says when he walks into the room. I know that it is just jabber but she does it all the time. I think she it trying to say brother.
I love you two snuggie buggies!

We had nice and quite little Fourth of July. On the third, Logan does their fireworks thing, so we went with some friends to that. On the 4th we had an exciting day cleaning out our garage! That evening we thought we should try to do something festive. So, we got together with our neighbors and did some fireworks.

Andre like the sparklers but the kid HATES the other fireworks. He watched them with his ears covered the whole time asking if we could go in. I guess his ears must be sensitive from his tubes and stuff he had, but he toughed it out.

Kendyl loved it. We have lucked out and haven't had any ear infections so far. Andre had like 10 at this point. We are crossing our fingers that is stays this way.

Well, Kendyl's first Independance day was pretty uneventful and mellow but some times those days are the best. It is always just nice to be together.
Hope you all had a great 4th too.

Okay, my camera is back from getting fixed for the second time. The bad news is that Wes had to spend a lot of money. The good news is that I basically have a brand new camera. Nikon decided to replace almost everything, even the serial number. So I am back at it again!!!

Kendyl is getting so big. She is now 8 months old and cute as ever. She is such a curious girl. She is constantly grabbing and reaching for stuff. She has two teeth and working on number 3. She hates her tummy so she is not crawling. We feel she is getting close, she just has to figure how to do it without getting on her tummy. She is starting to pull herself onto her knees from a sitting position. She is waving now and loves to wave at other babies she sees. (Like she is in a secret club, like the motorcycles riders that wave at each other) She has a little spunk and is developing a fun little personality.

Do you ever wonder what they are thinking?

Sometimes I think you can just tell!

For the most part she is a mellow little girl. She goes with the flow. However, she is a girl that knows what she wants. She loves to be put to bed a specific way, she likes her food a certain temprature, she wants what ever you've got and when she gets something she can't have and you take it away she gives you a yell then a smile. I think she has figured it out.

So now that I just finished nursing Kendyl has learned to hold a bottle. The cute thing is she likes to hold it with her feet. What a monkey!
Here is Andre's Tee-ball Team photo. They all look so cute. It is funny to see how all there ears poke out off there hats.

Every other kid on the team got there individual picture taken with a bat. You know the classic baseball picture, not my boy, Andre gets up there to pose and he decides he wants to have his picture taken with his glove. The photographer tried to hand him the bat three times and Andre kept insisting that he take it with his glove. What an individual! I guess he knows what he wants too. Maybe this means he will want to become a pitcher. Time will tell, I only hope this is a sign that he won't give into peer pressure.

This years Team Soccer Photo

Andre makes me laugh. Yeasterday morning Andre, Kendyl and I were lying in bed. Andre was trying to convince me to get up. I was so tired. I tried really hard to ignore him, but trust Andre to not give up. After minutes of pestering me he says" Mom get up, we are the last people in the world still in bed. Everyone else has ate there breakfast." Making me chuckle, I couldn't resist and got out of bed. It was only 7:30 so I am sure that we were not the last ones still in bed. (Right Grandma Becky) What a fun kid.

Memorial Weekend!
(First family photo in a long time)

It is some what of a tradition to go up to my parents cabin in Island park for the three day weekend, although it has been years since my whole family has made it up there together. This year we did. Evan though there was a recent add on to the cabin, we all worried how we would all get along for whole week. As scary as it sounds, we all survived the long weekend and had a great time.

On Saturday we went to West Yellowstone and watched the Bear movie at the Imax theater. It was amazing, as all of those movies are. Kendyl surprising loved it too. She sat on Wes lap, fully intrigued the whole movie. She would coo and shake her hands and legs in excitement. It goes without say that Andre loved it as well.

(the grandkids pose for a picture with there new favorite toy)

A favorite activity to do at the cabin is hunt for bears. So when the grandkids asked for these wood pistols, Grandpa just had to say yes. It is just a matter of time before Kendyl is hunting with the boys and of course her pistol will have to be pink!

On Sunday we went for a stroll on a favorite trail of mine along Henry's Fork of the snake River. Andre insisted on being the leader. We are glad he did, because he ran right into a snake and screamed like a girl. It was so funny to see his reaction. I have never seen him jump so high. After that he let Shannon lead.

(My two favorite boys with feathers in there hats)

Along the way we tried to see who could find the coolest thing on the trail. Wes was the winner. He found us all feathers to wear and a reflector from a bike that he told Andre it was a magic crystal.

(our cute little iniwook (baby Indian) as my mother would say and as her grandmother would say.)

In the back of the Cabin Andre found a tree that he dubbed as a Teeter totter.

(Sweet hat Wes! This hat is a very important park of our cabin trips. Wes always seems to find it and sport it for the whole weekend. It is a good look for you honey!)

Kendyl's first cabin trip was great. She loves quality time with dad and Grandpa.

Don't let these cute pictures fool you. Kendyl is defiantly a mama's girl.

Kendyl's first ride on the four wheeler. We have a almost identical picture of Andre at this age. There reactions were about the same. They seemed to kick back and just chill for the ride. If you look close you see Kendyl griping the four wheeler with her foot. She might have not been as relaxed as Andre, but I think she faked it pretty good.

On more firsts for Kendyl! Grandpa showed her how to roast a marshmallow. I think she has it down.
What nice little weekend!

A marvelous work and Wonder

Nauvoo Temple
Wes and I both have grandparents serving Missions in Nauvoo. My Grandparents are serving a full time mission there and Wes Grandparents just recently started serving a temple mission there. It is really neat to have both our grandparents serving together.
My grandparents are financial assistants to the president so they work in the office and also get to give tours on the weekends.
Wes' Grandpa is a temple sealer so him and his wife are serving in the temple.

Go Lynx ! Rooaaar

Andre has stared his first year of Baseball well, Tee-ball, His team is called the Lynx. That is a cat for some those of you who don't know. Andre has been growling ever since he found out what a lynx was. He is really excited to be playing. Everyday he asked me if it is tee ball day.

It is so exciting to watch, okay We will be honest it gets a little boring, But it is fun to see Andre out there in is baseball cap. It is pretty simple right now they don't keep score and everyone gets to bat. They are learning the basics. By the end of the season the coaches will be pitching to them which might get pretty interesting.

We have discovered that I am a little more competitive then Wes, big surprise. If you truly know anything about Wes then you know that he doesn't have much aggression in him. Maybe that is why he excels in a gentleman's sport like golf. Wes is always reminding me that as long as Andre is having fun than that is what is important. I on the other hand have a hard time with that. I want Andre to be good and play really hard. Me and all the other Dad's on the sidelines yelling. So what if I make Andre play catch with me for an hour everyday. It is really not that bad but I think that I could use a little of Wes' easy goingness.

In all seriousness, we are glad that Andre is having fun and meeting new Friends.

Go Andre!!!!

Okay so I am a little behind on my Blogging, but better late then never. So finally the much anticipated Birthday bash post.

The theme was a black and white cocktail party. It was held on May 12th at the Sports Academy poolside. It was a perfect evening warm and sunny. Dinner, Dancing, and so-called Karaoke, but most of all lots of laughter and great times.

Last year mother's day in Mackinaw.........

This year Mother's day at home!
All though Mackinaw, Michigan is one of the most beautiful and fun places I have visited. I still prefer Mother's day at home!
Andre and his cousins, McCrae and Austin, having a blast with a Rhodes favorite past time. Jumping on the tramp with sprinklers. I think my parents have had that "Rain Train" since I was a kid! We use to jump and yell "Spit balls attacking". We had a lot of fun going up in po-dunk Tremonton.I think that Grandma and Grandpa's backyard is one of Andre's favorite places. With the Trampoline, sand box, swings, playhouse and hot tub it is the perfect place to be a kid. There is just something about my parents house that makes me want to be a kid again.

Shannon and I enjoying a friendly game of Bum War. I must say I am the currant defending champion. Better Luck next time Shannon.

Classic! This picture came about with a idea from my father. We we all sitting around visiting. Shannon and the boys we laying on the tramp after a hard day of playing, when my dad said "if I was mischievous I would go turn on the water". That was, oh so conveniently under the tramp. That is all I need and I tipped toed over to the faucet as Wes grab the camera. Voila! a family fun moment caught on camera.

The thing I love most about being with my family is the love they give to me and my family. I guess I was pretty lucky to have the first baby girl, they all fight over her. My dad usually wins the battle and hogs her the most but they all get there fair share of kisses. Thanks, you all for loving us (I mean Kendyl) so much.
This blog entry would not be complete with out a acknowledgemeant of my brothers newest addition to his family. His new Harley Davison. He thinks he is such a stud now. I guess you do look pretty cool, but NO Kendyl won't be going for any rides for a while.
Andre the Graduate!

Today was Andre's preschool graduation. It was adorable they all had T- shirts made and hat's to wear. They did a graduation march and sang songs in a giant crayon box. We all got a scrapbook they had made through out the year. Full of pictures and a page for each letter of the alphabet.

This was Andre's teacher. Teacher Mindy was wonderful ! She always made all the kids feel so special. She is now pregnant with twins! Good Luck.
Preschool helped Andre so much this year. Not only do we see a difference with his speech but with his social and athletic skills as well. Most of all he has learned a lot academically. He knows all the letters upper and lower case and has started to read a little.

This two books he can read to us. The first official books he doesn't need any help with. Wow it is so exciting. For all you Friends who have pre schoolers, these two books are great.
We loved Andre's pre school and recommend it to anyone. He attended the All Academy Preschool at the Sports Academy. Michelle is the director and she is amazing. If anyone is wondering about pre school you should definately check out All Academy, it is worth the money!

Finally I got to posting Andre's five year old pictures. Sorry, again for the Dozen. I have found it impossible to leave any out,I love them all. Some of them show his personality and others are just to adorable.

Having kids is a lot of fun. Especially when you have a five year old. Andre makes us laugh on a daily basis. I love our rides home from school when he tells me about his day. The other day on our way home he tells me, "It was Teacher Mindy's birthday today and she brought "Fat Kids". I said, "Teacher Mindy brought what?" He then says again "Fat Kids, you know the cookies with ice cream in the middle." " Oh Fat Boy's" I said. He responded by saying, "yea Fat Boy's but the girls ate them too. Another day Wes and Andre were in the car and Wes was teasing him about something and Andre response with "you are ruining my life." What a fun kid.

Andre is such a sweet boy. All the time he tells me "Mom you look pretty." Talk about a Heart melter. Maybe just a smooth Talker. Regardless it works on me, but the other day he surprised me with how polite he is. We were going into Wendy's when he opened the door for me and Shannon and said, "Ladies First." what a good boy I think we will keep him.

This was Andre's Reward for cooperating with me for pictures.

"Go home Ball, are you too good for you home."

I finally got around to taking Kendyl's Six month pictures. Here they are, she is a little cutie. If I could, I would take pictures of her all day, I practically did. There is a ton so if you get bored sorry, but those of you who have kids know that it is hard to not think everyone wants to see every cute picture you take. And for those of you who know me, you also know that I have hundreds that I have not posted, So I did spare you some.

I have taking Andre's Five year old Pictures I am just getting them sorted so look for those coming Up.
Bathing Beauties

This weekend we took Kendyl swimming for the first time. This is our friends daughter Henley Huntsman, It is her first time taking a dip also.

Henley Loved it.......

Kendyl not so much!

Henley is almost 4 months old and cute as can be. I think that her and Kendyl will be experiencing a lot of firsts together. It was neat to share this experience with the Huntsman's.
Here the two are all dressed and back on dry land. We have a tendency to dress the a like and not on purpose. I guess great minds think alike. Here they are sporting matching jog suits. What a couple of cuties.
Totally Cute!
Kendyl and Calista just having a good time.
It is great for all of our friends to be having kids. It makes for some great best friends from birth. We are glad that our "Family" is growing.

One down , 31 More to go......

Kendyl Got her first tooth Today! It finally broke through. It has been bothering her for a month now and finally it is here. Just as Andre is loosing them Kendyl is getting them. Isn't that funny.
Too cute!!!! I guess teething is a lot of hard work.
One of My Loves!

Most people who know me know that I love to play Tennis. When I was a little girl I would beg my dad to take me to play. I have fond memories of us jumping on his motorcycle, holding on to the racquet's, and to dear life, as we drove to the court. I am sure my dad won, but all I remember is having a blast. As I grew up I began to play competitively, and was on my high school team. Ironically, I use to take private lesson from Wes' boss. ( It is funny how small this world is)
Lately, I have found the love for the game again. I have join a Lady's Workout where we do drills and practice on our game. They are a bunch of fun ladies. We have a blast.

(Kathy, Ethel, Mary, Ben, Me, Leslie, Jane)
I am the youngest by just a few years, but you would never know it by the way the ladies play. They are really good and know the game. Our coach is Ben (Andre calls him Ben 2). He also teaches my son in Pre-School tennis. He is a riot and has no trouble holding his own with us ladies.

As I said these ladies are a riot! It was there Idea to show our best action pose.

Ben works us hard! Sometimes we wish we wouldn't have asked for more Cardio. This is us playing a game called balls up. It is fun but there is a lot of running involved. I love it though, it is a fun workout.

Here is my best interpretation of Anna Kurnikova.

What a fun group I have found. I look forward to Wednesday mornings every week.
Love ya Ladies!

Happy Half Birthday
Kendyl!
That is right our little girl is 6 months today.

It seems Like October 19Th was just yesterday!

Aren't these the cutest little patten leather Mary Jane's you ever saw?
My mom found these shoes in her cedar chest!
They belong to me when I was a little girl. I was so excited not just because they are adorable but because I love that it is something sentimental.

Kendyl must have inherited my love for shoes. The moment I put them on her she loved looking at the and grabbing them. It might have been just because they are shine but I love to think that she already has a great fashion sense.
Thanks again Mama for the great Hand-me-down.

What a month it has been...
and it is only half way through. The last couple of weeks have brought several milestone moments in the Archibald home. First, I will start with Kendyl!

Yep, this is the official first time she sat up! I was so happy I caught it on camera. I think by the look on her face, she surprised herself. It happened On Easter night.

Kendyl's first attempt at baby food. MMM peas. Well, Kendyl didn't think so. She hated them. We are now trying squash and that seems to suit her much more.

Andre's Turn!

Yep, that little tiny thing Andre is holding is his first lost tooth. It has been loose for about two weeks, 'till finally none of us could stand it. So dad yanked it out....

Although it didn't take much yanking. It was only holding on by a thread.

Andre didn't cry until he saw that it was bleeding. All in all it was a pretty exciting experience for him and us. The Tooth Fairy came and turned his tooth into a special gold dollar coin.

Next event Andre had...

Was his first soccer game! Andre loved it and he is pretty good. Andre has never been a real aggressive kid, in fact he is a little bit of a push over. We weren't sure how he would do in an aggressive sport, but he did great. He got right in there and did good. In fact he scored the first goal!

This is the shot. The first goal of his career.
And Andre's Third milestone......

He has mastered riding a bike! Well, not quite mastered it, but is training wheel free. He is doing great and has only crashed once.

Here is dad helping Andre push off and that was all he needed. We started by taking off his pedals and having him use his feet to move. Once he got going he picks up his feet and coasts. Last night was the night we put the pedals back on, he jumped on and just took off. It was really neat to see. After his first little ride he said " That was totally Awsome."

Andre has got it down. The cutest part was that he insisted on getting a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads before he would even try it. He has always been a pretty cautious kid. Let's just hope it stays that way.
Now on to Wesley.
Wes also had a couple of firsts this month

First, he got to go to San Fransisco for the first time ever. He went there on Business to an IHRSA convention. It is a Health Club conference that the Sports Academy goes to every year. Wes and Keith, the CEO of the Sports Academy, went. Keith served his Mission there so he gave Wes the grand tour. Keith also had Wes accomplish another milestone in his life.....

And had Wes try CRAB! Now you all might be thinking that eating crab is not that much of a milestone. But If you know Wes then you know that the boy is extremely picky so this is an major accomplishment. He said he like and ate a lot of it.
As for me...

I have joined a Women's Tennis group. Me and some Ladies get together on Wednesday mornings to do drills and play matches. It is a blast and great to do a little something for myself.
Also I just got a call and my camera it's finally fixed. Yea! I literally jumped for joy when they called me. Now I can quit mooching off people to barrow there cameras. Thanks Mark and Aunt Whitney for the use of your camera and making this entry possible. With all that has happened I would have been pretty sad to have not been able to take pictures.

Well it has been a great couple of weeks. Weeks like this make it great to be a mother. Sorry that this is a huge entry, but you know it is all important.

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter. Full of egg hunts, dinners, and family. It was great to be home this year. Here we are all dressed up for church. It is probably a bit much that we all coordinate but, it was two tempting.

As you can see both our kids are getting so big!

Our Kids in there new Easter Duds. Pretty stinking cute.

Yep! The Easter Bunny found us. Sunday morning the kids finding there baskets!Check out Andre's sweet Bed head.
Hope everyone else had a delightful Easter.
Ahhhh! My Camera is still in the shop. I am going crazy! There is about to be some serious fit hitting the shan, If foresters doesn't get it done. I feel like I am missing so much. Thanks to my dear Sister-in-law Whitney,Who lent me her camera this weekend, I was able get some Easter pictures. I am trying to find time to get them posted but it has been so crazy lately. You all know how it is. I promise I will get to it soon. Monday, April 09, 2007
She started it.....................
A couple Sundays ago we went on a bike ride, you know a little family togetherness. We loaded Kendyl into the trailer, Andre hopped on his scooter and off we went. It all started out so enjoyable. After a while Andre's legs got tired and he wanted to get in the trailer. So we repositioned and headed off again. Kendyl started to get hungry so we headed back home. She had had enough family bonding time and stared to cry. Now you must know, Andre is quit symptathetic to Kendyl and being the great big bother he is. He insisted on shoving the Binky in her mouth to stop her from crying. When that didn't work he began to cry too. There they sat on our so enjoyable ride, crying. His hand trying to hold the Binky in her mouth and her screaming it out. There we rode through our neighborhood on a peaceful Sunday evening, waving to our neighbors laughing hysterically at the situation behind us. Two kids screaming at what apparently was there first official fight. When we finally reach home I asked Andre why he was crying and he respond by saying "she started crying first." and so it begins I thought.
Now I guess it is a good thing that Kendyl is such a great baby and doesn't cry all that much because know when ever she does cry Andre puts his hands on his ears and cries " I can't take this". Right know it is cute and endearing but it is vastly becoming annoying. Oh the joys of having two!

Ahoy! Matey
Andre had a pirates party this year. He invited five Friends to go swimming at the academy. We also had a treasure hunt.

(Hunter,Andre,Jason,Hanna,Ireland,Sydney)
All the kids got a certain color bandanna, an eye patch, a sword and a treasure chest. Since none of them can read just yet! They had to hunt for there own treasure, toys and candy ,that was marked with there own color. The kids ran around saying Arr it was a blast. Although we armed all the youngsters with a weapon surprising not one of them got hurt and they do make very cute Pirates
Time to Walk the plank!!!

Andre has became quite the swimmer thanks to his swimming class at preschool.

Wes being the good Dad that he is and got in the pool to help and play with the kids. We would also like to thank Jared for also braving six five year old's in a pool. The little pirates had a blast swimming they didn't want to get out, but the big pirates in the pool were more than ready.
Sunday we had Grandma's and Grandpa's over for dinner! It was nice to have us all togethrer, by the way I have the recipe for Cafe Rios' sweet pork, ummm delicious!!!!
Andre was hook up with lots of great gifts. Some of the stuff he got was walkie talkies, Spy stuff, a base ball mitt and tee, Tennis raquete, transformers, and his favorite a toy rifle and a
shotgun bottle shooting game. Boys will be boys.
Thank you for all the fun stuff everybody Andre has enjoyed it all.

Baby BFF's

This last weekend we met Bettie and Lance in Pocatello and got to finally meet Calista. She is as beautiful in person as she is in pictures. We love being one of Calista's Favorite Aunts and Uncles. Who would of though that a year ago Bettie and I would be having babies let alone two baby girls. It is amazing how things workout.

Two of the cutest girls in the world. Wow is Kendyl really that big. How time flies I still see her as newborn.

She looks like Lance. Lance you surely make a beautiful girl!

Bettie is such a great mother. Calista you are a very Lucky girl. Now we are just waiting for Baby girl Pousson and Baby boy Rich Hurry up you two!!!

This Valentines was a great one! Andre had a Valentines party at school and all the mothers were invited. They sang songs to us, gave us a Valentine key chain that they made and we decorated cookies. It was fun to spend the day with one of my favorite valentines.

What a Sweetie

Me with 2 of my 3 cutest Valentines I am so lucky to be a mom!

Last year we decided that Valentine's Day we want to share with our kids. So we have started a tradition that we have a fun little dinner, candles, centerpieces, Place cards, desert and all. It was fun this year to have our newest Valentine join us, Evan though she can't really enjoy the molten chocolate cake. It is nice to share the evening with all the people we love most.

Also along with the festivities of Valentines day. Last Saturday Wes took all of his sales Reps and there Other halves to the 20Th annual Chocolate festival in Logan. It is a event that they have that raises money for charities you go around and sample all kinds of stuff and you vote on your favorites. It was fun and there is a lot you can make with chocolate.

Chocolate wasn't the only interesting things to see (for those of you who were there you know what I am talking about.) By the way Michelle this guy told me he was looking for a Valentine this year and thought you look promising, wink, wink.

Happy Valintine's to all who read this....
Little boys are from Mars and little girls are form Venus

Andre had his Friend Sydney come over and play the other day. It is funny how different boy and girls play. Sydney wanted to play house and Andre wanted to play Super heroes. They ended up playing with all of Andre's Super hero action figures, but Sydney had decided that Batman was married to Cat women and another Batman was married to Wonder Women. It was a riot to watch, Andre was running around with his figures having them fly. While Sydney was there have her two "communicate". I guess the differences between Men and Women start early.

Our Sweet Kendyl

Here are the most recent photos of Kendyl. She is almost 4 months old now and still is a great baby! Her eyes have cleared up, she is cooing evan more, She has found her hands and is starting to be able to grasp toys, but she still prefers playing with her hands. She is really a happy baby and is so much fun.

Having a girl has been so much fun. The funnest thing so far is getting to play dress up. My favorite part of the day is getting Kendyl ready and I am sure it will just more fun the bigger she gets and the more hair she gets (hopefully that will come soon!!!) Everyday that I put a new outfit on her she looks so cute I have to take a picture of her, but I won't bore you with a fashion show!!! Lets just say she is pretty styling.

As you can see she is growing like a weed, Wes said "We are feeding her miracle grow as you can see by the flower sprouting out if her head," Ha Ha!!! It is a little big but to me it is all about accessorizing.

Let's Cha-cha

Life at our house has been so busy We feel like We never see each other anymore. So I (Against Wes' wishes) signed us up for a Latin Dance class. That way at least one hour a week we have some us time. It has been a blast and much to Wes' dismay he has enjoyed it too. We just learned the Cha-Cha and next we are learning the Samba.

As Many of you know Wes can really move. This white boy has rhythm. It was one of the things that made me fall in love with him.

Shannon (my darling sister) and her Friend Howard cutting a rug. They are taking the class with us. Growing up one of our favorite movies was Dirty Dancing We can pretty much repeat it word for word. So this is a dream come true for us.

Look at me !!!

Kendyl is now almost 3 months old. Wow how time flies. she is growing a ton, She weighs 12 pounds, and is cooing and smiling all the time. she has been sleeping till 7 or 8 in the morning since about 6 weeks so we are all smiling and cooing too. She is a great baby.

Okay so i can't stop taking Pictures of her she is so cute. Everyday is a photo shoot a round hear. Wes and Andre are getting sick of it, but Kendyl doesn't seem to mind. I guess that's what she thinks mommy's do.
Since Kendyl has been born she has had a clog tear duct which makes her eyes tear. We are hoping it will clear on its own. It is however cute to see a single tear run down her check. She's also a bubble blower she can get some serious bubbles brewing.

She has such bright eyes that light up when ever you talk to her.
She has brought a special spirt into our home .
what a wonderful Experience it has been having her in our family!
Two of a kind!

This Morning Andre and I were playing and singing to Kendyl, When all of a sudden Andre got up and ran down stairs. I asked him where he was going and he said to get my book of Mormon. When he got back he sat in front of Kendyl opened up his book and began to read. Now Andre can't read yet but it didn't stop him form "reading" to Kendyl. He told her about his favorite story Captain Moroni. He says " there are these guys Lamanites they want to fight Captain Moroni and Captain Moroni has a flag and lots of armor . In 1:8 he says we must not fight to day. Heavenly father protected him." Not exactly what the scriptures say but he got the important parts. He also showed Kendyl all the pictures in the front of the book and told what they were."this is Lehi and his family he is a prophet...Etc." I was so proud of him. He also taught me a lesson that you are never to little to read the Scriptures

Andre is also such a big helper with Kendyl the other day I was right in the middle of changing the laundry and Kendyl started to cry. Andre is so good to inform me when the baby is crying, as if I can't hear it. I said okay I will be there in a minute. He said I help her. Then down the hall walks Andre with a now screaming Kendyl. "here mom" he says "I got her all by myself". Good thing she is pretty resilient.

What a Kid!!!

Finally Our First Snow!!!

Andre was so excited when last Thursday he woke up to snow on the ground. It is the first real snow Logan got. It laid down about 2 inches in the early morning. Andre was such a good helper he wanted to shovel the only problem is that Wes had already clean the drive way. So Andre decided to shovel snow back on the drive way. It was funny until he started doing to all the other neighbors drives and then mom had to go shovel it all back off. What a good helper or a little stinker it all depends on how you look at it.
I love how rosy his cheeks got.
