Andre's Baptism

Andre got baptized on Saturday March 6th

It was a great day.

Wes baptized him and Andre asked his Grandpa Brad to confirm him. My sister Shannon gave a great talk about the Holy Ghost.

Grandma and Grandpa Rhodes gave Andre a new set of scriptures

Grandma and Grandpa Archibald gave Andre an new case for his scriptures and some scritpture stickers.

Andre stole the show playing "I am a Child of God" on his guitar. He has been practicing the song for a month now. He did a great job and I am so proud of him. He has only been playing for 2 months.

Andre with his Guitar teacher, Tanner. Andre Idolizes him so much. Tanner is a great kid so I am glad that he has chose him to be a role model. Tanner is cool, hip, respectable, and better yet has a wonderful spirt.

The next Sunday Andre bore his testimony. His was so cute. He went up there with such ease. He bore a great testimony and then shared a scripture with us. Something kind of random in 1 Nephi about children of God. Although he made up a few words he couldn't quite read, he did great. However after he was done reading, he just walk of the stand. I had to remind him that he needs to say "In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen" after he was finished. After a few mintues he had passed he had thumbed through the scriptures and found another scripture he wanted to read and went to stand up to read that one too. I suggest he save it for another time and that we should only go up once a meeting. What a great kid. You have to love his egarness.

Birthday Bash

Andre just could not wait any longer, so we busted open the presents in the morning before school. Kendyl was a great help. Andre, being the great brother that he is, was very willing to let Kendyl help him open every present.

Some of the things he got was a Rip Stick, Remote Control helicopter (I think Wes had the most fun with this present), some Tek deck skate board stuff, new Converse shoes (chucks), and a fedora (something Andre has wanted forever they are hard to find for kids, but you got to love Kohl's).


I made Andre a Skateboard cake. I am no pastry chef, but I am going to call it a success. Every other time that I have attempted to make a birthday cake look like something it has ended up in the trash. His skate board is green on the bottom so I tried to make it look like that. Andre loved it, which is the most important part.

That night we took Andre out to Wingers, one of his favorite places. Then back to the house for more presents.

Grandma got him a new baseball bat, bag and batting gloves, also from Grandma he got a light saber, and a game.

Aunt Shannon knows just what he likes. She gave him a Bon Jovi Shirt and a guitar pick.

Kendyl pouting because Andre had finally had enough of letting her help open presents.

Good thing her moods don't last to long. Our sassy girl will never be out shined.

Happy Birthday Andre
Today was Andre's 8th birthday!!! WOW this one hit me. I have an 8 year old ? It seems just a bit ago that Andre looked like this.

Now he has lost those chubby cheeks and became quite a handsome young man.

Andre has also decided to be baptized. We are so proud of him and his decision. Andre has been waiting a long time to be baptized. He has been telling us for years that he could not wait until he turned 8. He is ready.

This year Andre has grown-up quite a lot. He has officially decided he is too big for superhero's , is positive he no longer needs a booster seat and has decided he needs a cell phone. He just can't decided between an iphone or a flip phone. Yea, Good luck with that one buddy.

Andre's signature phrase is.... When some one says to him what's up, he always says, "Good."
He cannot take a picture without flashing a peace sign or a hang loose. He wants to be an Art teacher when he grows-up. He still weighs just 50 pounds and just might until he turns 18. Has a very contagious laugh. Still sleeps with his infamous green blanket. Loves music and already has quite a range of tastes. Thinks he might want to go pro at skate boarding. Decided for his class talent show to show off his hip hop moves. Would rather read Non-fiction books. Loves Chinese food and has recently found out he loves chicken wings. Absolutely adores his little sister and doesn't mind her tagging along in fact prefers it that way. Just a few things that make him our Andre!!!

Andre is now going by the title of Guitarist Andre A. Last week we went to this new hip blues restaurant. We knew Andre would dig it because they have live music. We were right, he thought it was awesome. They have a wall there that you can sign. Andre wanted to sign it so he did. When he showed us where he had signed, this is what we saw!

Andre we love you so much and are a true joy to have in our house. You are such a sweet boy. Thank you for that. Never lose that sweetness or style all your own. It is what makes you our Andre!
